Wes Duncan is an Iraq War Veteran, Captain in the Air Force Reserve, Nevada Attorney and a proud member of our community
Wes was born in Sonora, California, a small town located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and after graduating with his BA in Political Science, Wes attended the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where he received his JD.
After graduating from law school, Wes answered the call to serve his country and entered the United States Air Force. In December 2008, he deployed for six months to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where Wes worked in the Iraqi court system and assisted the Iraqis in prosecuting Al Qaeda and other extremist groups in Baghdad. Wes spent his entire four and a half years on active duty stationed in Las Vegas at Nellis Air Force base as a member of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps, where he oversaw and prosecuted 40 courts-martials and assisted hundreds of active duty personnel and retirees with their legal needs.
When his active duty commitment ended, Wes decided to make Nevada his home and co
ntribute his passion for public service to the local community. Wes passed the bar exam in July 2011 and is now practicing law in the private sector. He also continues to proudly wear the uniform of the United States Air Force as a Reserve JAG.
Wes is recently engaged to Ms. Jennifer Pearson, an active duty Air Force nurse, currently deployed to the Middle East. In his spare time, Wes enjoys hiking, running, reading, taking care of his two spaniels—Gracie and Chrissy—and being actively involved in his church community.
